Wii INFO
There are 5 generations of Wii consoles.
The First generation of Wii were released on the 19th of November, 2006. D2A/DMS is the first distiguishing factor which differentiates the first generation of Wii from the second, third and fourth. They are the easiest to chip and the most obvious way to be able to tell if your Wii console is a 1st generation is if your Wiimote didn't initially come with a Wiimote sleeve. The cost of chipping your generation 1 Wii is $100 if a D2Sun Pro V3 is used (We highly recommend using this chip). We can also use a Wii Key on the 1st Gen Wii which is only $70 this chipthis chip is not as advanced as the D2Sun Pro V3 however still allows the use of backups.
The Second Generation of Wii uses a D2B/D2C chip. Both these cost $110> to chip
The Third Generation of Wii uses a D2C chip. However it is very hard to distinguish whether it is a true D2C as of the 2nd of March 2008, Nintendo started to ship D2C2 chips and these are actually a Fourth Generation chip. The only way to distinguish a D2C from a D2C2 is after modding. Due to this the prices may vary for D2C/D2C2's if you had purchased them after March 2008.
The Fourth Generation of Wii known as the D2E as of the 15th of September in Australia the D2E's have started to be epoxy-ed by Nintendo in order to make it harder to chip. These consoles can still be chipped the cost being $110 this includes the cost of removing the Epoxy. There is a new 5th Generation Wii where Nindendo has removed the D2 Chip which was vulnerable to chipping. This is known as the D2none Wii which can now also be modified for $110
Softmodding is also avalible to allow the loading of Homebrew software and allot of other features. The cost of softmodding is only $10.00 when done with a chip. Softmodding is recommended as an additional option to be used with a chip on your Wii to unlock everything possible with your Wii(such as loading games from a external harddrive). We do not recommend only softmodding your Wii as you will not be able to load all games in the future. When ever Nintendo releases games that require upgraded firmware the softmod to your Wii will require upgrading to to able to play these games.
