Firmware Upgrades available for the PSP. The latest M33 firmware is 5.00-6 or the latest Xgen firmware is 5.50. This enables you to play games from the memory stick which means bye bye UMD's! You will be able to play Homebrew Software and other emulators such as Nintendo DS. This firmware upgrade costs $40 for all models of PSP, slim or fat.

DS card mods are available in the purchase of a DS R4 Cartridge or DS Edge Cartridge. These allow backs and homebrew software to run on the DS. Both cost $70 and allow a Miro SD card to then store games to use on the DS. A DS simple TT card is $60, all these cards do the same job in different formats.
